BudgetScroll collects no personal data. There is no account to create, no server receiving your entries, and no analytics or advertising tracking of any kind.

What you put into the app
To do its job, BudgetScroll stores the information you enter: accounts, payment instruments, entries with amount, date, category and description, and your preferences (language, theme, display density).
This data is financial and personal, which is precisely why it never leaves your devices and your Apple account. It does not pass through any developer server, because no developer server exists.
Where it is stored
Data is stored locally on your device. If an iCloud account is signed in on the device, it is also synced through CloudKit in your iCloud account's private database, so it is available on your other Apple devices.
The iCloud private database is controlled by Apple and accessible only to your account: the developer has no technical means of reading it. Data handling on iCloud is governed by Apple's privacy policy.
If you would rather not sync, you can turn iCloud off for BudgetScroll in iOS settings: the app keeps working with local data only.
Data that is NOT collected
- No data is sent to the developer or to any third party.
- No analytics service, no advertising SDK, no tracking identifier.
- No user profile, no sign-up, no email address required to use the app.
- No location, no contacts, no access to photos or microphone.
- No connection to banking services: BudgetScroll does not connect to your bank and does not read your real account activity. Everything you see, you entered yourself.
On the App Store product page this corresponds to the "Data Not Collected" label.
Biometric authentication
If you enable the app lock, iOS verifies your identity with Face ID, Touch ID or your device passcode. This is handled entirely by the operating system: the app only receives the outcome, success or failure. Biometric data is never accessible to the app and never leaves the device.
Exporting your data
You can export your data to a JSON file at any time. The file is created on your device and you decide where to save it or who to share it with: the app does not send it anywhere.
Deleting your data
You can erase all data from within the app, or delete the application from your device. To remove the synced copy as well, delete BudgetScroll's data from your Apple account's iCloud settings. Since the developer keeps no copy of your data, there is nothing to request from them in order to have it deleted.
Your rights
The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) grants data subjects the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction and portability. With BudgetScroll these rights are exercised directly in the app, because the data is already — and only — in your hands: access and rectification by editing entries, portability by exporting to JSON, erasure by wiping the data. The developer holds no archive to consult or to delete on request.
Children
The application is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data concerning them — consistent with the fact that it collects no user data at all.
Changes to this policy
Should the app introduce features that change how data is handled, this page will be updated and the date at the top will change accordingly. Previous versions are not kept online.
